Owaa YouTube Trilingual Subtitles — Privacy Policy
What the extension sends
While the overlay is on, the caption text of the YouTube video you are watching — the lines a short way ahead of playback, with their timings, the video id and the caption language — is sent to Owaa’s translation service at owaa.ai, together with the two languages you chose.
What it does not send
No audio or video, no account details (there is no sign-in), no browsing history, no other tabs, and nothing from pages other than youtube.com video pages.
Anonymous ticket
On first use the service issues a random anonymous ticket, stored in your browser, so that the daily free limit can be counted. It is not linked to your identity and expires after 30 days.
What Owaa stores
Translations are stored by video and caption track, so the next viewer of the same video gets them without a new translation. Usage is counted per anonymous ticket per day. Ordinary server logs (time, IP address, request size) are kept for security and abuse prevention for a limited period.
Sharing
Caption text is translated by Google’s Gemini models on Owaa’s own Google Cloud project. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.
Your controls
Turn the overlay off with the “Owaa” button in the player; nothing is sent while it is off. Removing the extension deletes the ticket and your settings.
