Owaa Meeting Notes — Privacy Policy
What the extension sends
Only on a Google Meet, Zoom (web client) or Microsoft Teams (web) call, and only while you have started notes: the call tab’s audio and, if “Include my microphone” is on, your microphone are streamed to Owaa’s translation service at owaa.ai, together with the language you chose. A two-language transcript comes back to your browser. When you stop, the transcript is sent once more to produce the key points and action items.
What it does not send
No audio from other tabs, no microphone audio when “Include my microphone” is off, no browsing history, and nothing at all while notes are stopped. The extension does not run on sites other than those three platforms’ call pages (meet.google.com, the Zoom web client at *.zoom.us/wc/, and Microsoft Teams on the web at teams.microsoft.com, teams.live.com and teams.cloud.microsoft), and it reads no page content: it only sees the address of the tab to tell whether it is a call.
Your Owaa account
You sign in with your Owaa account on owaa.ai. The extension keeps a sign-in token in your browser so it can request translations for you; it never sees your password. Translation minutes are charged to your Owaa credit balance.
What Owaa stores
The audio and the text are translated as they stream, and the transcript is summarised on request; neither is stored by Owaa. Owaa records usage — the product, the minutes used, the languages and the time — against your account for billing. Ordinary server logs (time, IP address, request size) are kept for security and abuse prevention for a limited period.
In your browser
The transcript and the notes are shown in the side panel and kept only in your browser until you close it, copy them or download them. Your settings are stored in the browser.
Sharing
Speech recognition, translation and synthesis run on Google Cloud (Speech-to-Text, Translation and Gemini models) in Owaa’s own Google Cloud project. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.
Your controls
Stop notes from the side panel at any time; nothing is sent while they are stopped. Let the other participants know when you record notes of a meeting. Signing out or removing the extension deletes the sign-in token and your settings.
