Owaa Live Interpreter — Privacy Policy
What the extension sends
Only while you have started interpretation on a tab: that tab’s audio is streamed to Owaa’s translation service at owaa.ai, together with the language you chose. The translated speech and a two-language transcript are streamed back to your browser.
What it does not send
No audio from other tabs or from your microphone, no browsing history, and nothing at all while interpretation is stopped.
Your Owaa account
You sign in with your Owaa account on owaa.ai. The extension keeps a sign-in token in your browser so it can request translations for you; it never sees your password. Translation minutes are charged to your Owaa credit balance.
What Owaa stores
The audio and the text are translated as they stream and are not stored by Owaa. Owaa records usage — the product, the minutes used, the languages and the time — against your account for billing. Ordinary server logs (time, IP address, request size) are kept for security and abuse prevention for a limited period.
In your browser
The transcript is shown in the side panel and kept only in your browser until you close the session or download it. Your language settings are stored in the browser.
Sharing
Speech recognition, translation and synthesis run on Google Cloud (Speech-to-Text, Translation and Gemini models) in Owaa’s own Google Cloud project. Nothing is sold or used for advertising.
Your controls
Stop interpretation from the side panel at any time; nothing is sent while it is stopped. Signing out or removing the extension deletes the sign-in token and your settings.
