LanguageLine alternative: human interpreters or real-time AI call translation
LanguageLine connects a live human interpreter to your call. Owaa for Business translates the call in real time inside your phone system. They are different tools, and for some calls a human interpreter is the right one. This page sets out the difference using LanguageLine’s own published prices. As of October 2026.

When you need a human interpreter
Some settings call for a qualified human interpreter: for example certain medical, legal or court situations, where rules or your own policy may require a certified interpreter. Check what applies to you. This page is not legal advice.
Where a human interpreter is required, use one. Real-time AI translation is a good fit for the routine volume around it: bookings, order status, appointment changes, follow-ups, and support questions where a wrong word is easy to correct.
